GINCO Investments welcomes first Techstars Class
GINCO Investments, the investment arm of GINCO Group, has partnered with Techstars, a premiere global accelerator, to launch the first ever program in the region.
Partnering with Techstars will bring a leading global brand and expertise to our home, Dubai, in a market where such caliber is unprecedented. The Techstars brand spans the globe, with 40 annual accelerators and a diverse portfolio of 1500 companies with a market cap of over $16 billion.
Under the auspice of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai Techstars Dubai in partnership with GINCO Investments will be the first “Partner of the Future” to launch under the Area 2071 initiative. AREA 2071, located in the prestigious Emirates Towers, was mandated to make Dubai the world’s leading city and brings together Emirati innovators and the best talent from across the world.
After worldwide recruitment and a rigorous selection process, Techstars Dubai in partnership with GINCO Investments selected 9 startups from Estonia, Canada, United States and United Kingdom, as well as 3 from the UAE to be a part of the inaugural class.
All 9 startups will go through an intensive 13 week acceleration process centered around mentorship, workshops and the ‘power of the network’. Alongside a global network of support, each startup will receive $120,000 as investment and the continuous support of the Gheyath family. These 13 weeks lead to a Demo Day where all 9 companies will pitch their products to Dubai’s best investors, government officials, startup enthusiasts, and domain experts in hope of securing future investment.
We’re pleased to share our inaugural cohort with you and would like to welcome them to Dubai and the GINCO Group family:
